The CERN Ice Hockey club started as an idea of a group of fans(core members) by the end of 2004 to be able to play ice-hockey again also in the Geneva area. It was found in the beginning of 2005 at CERN after all the necessary administration.
The first CERN Ice-Hockey season ever started on the 12th of October 2005, 22:30 at the Trois Chenes stadium.
In the 2005-2006 season the membership fee was 90 CHF. Members who wanted to play also in the Trois Chenes arena had to pay a bit more since it is more expensive and the membership fee was derived only from the price of renting of the rink in Meyrin. The conclusion was that the members would have to pay 5CHF per session extra for the Trois Chenes stadium and non-members paid 10CHF for any stadium. Players playing as goalies paid 0 CHF.
The club is in the possession of two goalie equipments (also for left-handers). The equipment was bought (big thanks to the CCC and the Staff Association!) by our club core team in summer 2005 CHIP SPORT with big price reductions (big thanks to Martin and CHIP sport). For the moment we have 1 player playing as a goalie who comes regulary and several players playing occasionally as a goalie. We would be happy to find someone who would prefer to play in the goal.
Thanks to the CCC we have a small storage room at CERN for the goalie equipments.
We have won our club's first official game 24.03.2006. More information:

General Assembly Meeting was held on the 25th of September 2007.
The results were
1. The yearly membership fee remained to be 150CHF.
2. only one training is allowed without membership. There is no longer possibility to come to the individual trainings and only pay for the ones that you attended.
3. There were no other candidates for the post of the president, the vice-president, the treasurer, and the secretary, than the actual ones.
They have been re-elected by the majority:
President: Karel Safarik
Vice-President: Miro Siket
Treasury: Svetozar Kapusta
Secretary: Svetozar Kapusta
A General Assembly Meeting was held in September 2006:
Present were:
Miro Siket, Antti Pirinen, Eric Lindquist, Maxx Dilley, Martin Stastny, Cyrille Schmid, Jozef Podolec, Philippe de Souza, Svetozar Kapusta.
"Remote pre-voting":
George York, Peter Selepec, Rado Hecko, Rado Chytracek.
1. This year we have the possibility to have 3 trainings weekly.
http://club-ice-hockey.web.cern.ch/club-ice-hockey/schedule.shtml Every Wednesday evening in Trois Chenes (10:15 - 11:15pm) and every Tuesday and Friday morning (7:45 - 8:45 am).
The question is 2 or 3 times a week ?
The voting (with Remote pre-voting):
For 3 times: 7
For 2 times: 3
Abstain: 3
So we will have three trainings weekly: 1 Trois Chenes, 2 in Meyrin.
(This decision can still be changed until the end of the week if there is enough people who vote).
2. There was also a discussion about the membership fee. Martin proposed that there will be no more 5CHF individual payments per session at the Trois Chenes arena. There will be only one payment for the whole season.
Everybody has agreed on the proposal. The rough estimate for one time Trois Chenes weekly and two times Meryin is ~54 sessions in total this season. The proposed membership fees were: 100, 120, 150 and 200CHF.
Everybody has voted for the membership fee to be 150 CHF for this season. I stress again: there will be no more 5CHF individual payments per session so if you come to most of the trainings it's cheaper than the last year.
Martin aslo proposed that new members who want to try, but do not want to pay the full season membership fee can pay 10CHF per session and if they decide to become members the money already payied from the sessions will be deducted from the membership fee. Everybody has agreed on that.
3. There were no other candidates for the post of the president, the vice-president, the treasurer, and the secretary, than the actual ones.
They have been re-elected by the majority:
President: Karel Safarik
Vice-President: Miro Siket
Treasury: Svetozar Kapusta
Secretary: Svetozar Kapusta
Also there have been raised some comments and ideas:
There was an proposal that we could do more pure skating and stickhandling before the actual play:
Martin(STAS) and Miro(MIRSI) will try to implement it in the trainings.
More games against other teams:
Martin(STAS) will try to arrange some matches with teams playing in the Geneva area.
To sum up:
3 trainings weekly
150 CHF membership fee
Same management
More time for pure skating and stickhandling training
Some matches with teams playing around Geneva
